This summer we went on vacation with John's parents and cousin Gavin. We saw a lot of interesting things like Monticello, Yorktown and Jamestown.

It was great having John's parents here. As you can see his dad has a great sense of humor.

This was a demostration on how to fire a cannon. I don't think this information will come in handy any time soon but it was interesting and the boys loved it.

Zack is actually has a pretty good aim. He has his Rifle Shooting merit badge and a patch from the National Rifle Association.

Can you see the baby deer. The park ranger said that the mother leaves the fawn in the swamp during the day. It is right below a bridge we had to walk over. Wouldn't it be great if kids were this obedient.

I love turtles. This one is an alligator turtle. I couldn't get a picture of the tail. Darn.

Seeing Monticello with Grandma Ose was wonderful. She is a Thomas Jefferson lecturer and we all know how important this place is to her so we were honored to see it with her.
